Contact Cader Electrical

Call Carl directly, send a WhatsApp message or use whichever contact method is easiest for you.

A short description and a few clear photographs can often help establish the likely scope before arranging a visit.

Please do not remove electrical covers or expose wiring in order to take photographs. Images should only show equipment that is already safely accessible.

What should you include?

For planned electrical work

  • What you would like installed, replaced or altered
  • The room or area where the work is required
  • Approximate quantities, such as the number of sockets or lights
  • Any preferred fittings or equipment already purchased
  • Whether decorating or other building work is planned

For an electrical problem

  • What is happening and how often it occurs
  • Which circuits, rooms or appliances are affected
  • Whether an RCD, RCBO or circuit-breaker has tripped
  • Any heat, smell, noise, damage or discolouration noticed
  • Anything that changed shortly before the issue began

Photographs can help — but only where safe

Useful photographs may include the front of the consumer unit, the affected socket or fitting and a wider view of the area. Never remove covers or touch damaged electrical equipment to obtain an image.

Immediate electrical danger:

If there is smoke, fire, arcing, exposed live equipment or an immediate risk of electric shock, do not rely on a website message, email, WhatsApp or Messenger. Keep people away, isolate the supply only where it is safe to do so and contact the appropriate emergency service or electricity network operator on 105.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before contacting Cader

Select a question below to reveal the answer.

How much does an electrician cost?

Electrical costs vary depending on the type of work, the parts and materials required, access, testing and the condition of the existing installation.

For broader UK pricing guidance, you can review the Checkatrade electrician cost guide . It provides general guidance across a range of electrical work.

For planned work, we will provide a costed quotation and explain what is included. For a call-out, the first hour is covered by the agreed call-out rate. If more time is needed, we will explain the likely duration and agree the next step with you before continuing.

We understand that unexpected electrical problems can be stressful, particularly where the final cost is not yet known. We will keep you informed as the work progresses.

Which contact method is best?

Telephone is best where the issue is easier to explain directly. WhatsApp is usually the most convenient option where photographs, videos or a short written description may help.

Email is useful for reports, documents or more detailed written enquiries. Facebook Messenger remains available if you already use the Cader Electrical Facebook page.

While attending other customers, we may not always be able to answer or respond immediately. Please leave a message and we will reply as soon as practical.

What is included in the free initial advice?

The first discussion about your needs is free, whether it takes place by telephone, message or during an initial visit arranged to understand planned work. We also do not charge for preparing a quotation.

For planned work, limited checks or measurements may be carried out during the initial visit where they are needed to prepare the quotation safely and accurately. This is not a full electrical inspection or EICR.

Free initial advice does not include an urgent same-day call-out, fault diagnosis or formal electrical testing. A call-out is chargeable where an electrician is needed that day or evening and the work cannot reasonably be planned in advance.

How quickly will you respond?

We aim to respond as quickly as practical and normally on the same day. Response times may vary while we are working, travelling or helping another customer.

Are evening and weekend appointments available?

Yes. Appointments are primarily arranged around evening and weekend availability. This is intended to work around business opening hours and busy home life, subject to location, scope and urgency.
